The cost to manufacture and stock it has become prohibitive. We recommend, instead, the standard 35 target. It has all the same qualities and utility as the microfilm version and has sufficient margin on each end for splicing into microfilm reel rolls. This film target is intended to be used in the evaluation of digital microfilm scanners for 35 mm preservation microfilm formats. It is available either as a single four-frame chop of 7 1/2" or the same size chop spliced into a 35 mm spool with 6 ft. of leader and 6 ft. of trailer attached.
- Consistent with preservation microfilm, it has a nominal background density of 1.00 and its features fill the entire 35 mm film width
- Individual frames are 35 mm x 45 mm
- Provides for the measurement of Spatial Frequency Response (SFR), resolution, macro/micro distortion, and grayscale behavior over a 0.10 to 1.20 optical density range when used with the supplied software (Windows-compatible)
